No problem. Thank you for taking the time out to look at this preset. Looking back at this preset, it is among the last where I used shaders in reshade. I currently do presets using files outside of rehade. The reason for this is technicality is higher, tuning different aspects in greater and more precise detail; and most importantly little if any fps loss. I can do better than what is seen here. I might revisit Silent Hill 3 in the future; and it never would came into my conscious without these comments. Thank you.

To get Reshade working with any game that is below DX9 follow these steps. I reinstalled Silent Hill 3 to test and it still works.
1. Download dgVoodoo from this site:

The latest version is “dgVoodoo v2.78”
2. Open the zip file and look under MS/X86. Copy those four files to where “sh3.exe” is located.
If one’s system is 64bit you can replace the D3D9.dll with the 64bit version, yet either one the x86 or the x64 version will work, so this is optional really.
3.Run to see if dgVoodoo registers in game, one should see a watermark at the bottom right corner. If it does you are on the right track.
To remove the watermark as to not interfere or deter from game-play, copy “dgVoodooCpl.exe” and “dgVoodoo.conf” to where “sh3.exe” is located. One can disable it two ways:
a.) Run “dgVoodooCpl.exe” click on the DirectX tab and uncheck dgVoodoo Watermark
b.) Open “dgVoodoo.conf” in notepad, search “dgVoodooWatermark” change = true to = false.
4 This is the [b]important[/b] step and where you might be having trouble. Open Reshade, select “sh3.exe” and select “Direct3D 10/11/12”. If one selects Direct 3D 9 reshade will not work since dgVoodoo uses a DX9 file to register its program. The files will conflict or more likely, reshade will override/delete dgVoodoo’s file.
5. Finally after finishing installing Reshade (Choosing shaders to download, configuring shader paths, texture paths etc.) Run Silent Hill 3 and Reshade should register.
One more thing to consider with Silent Hill 3, its native resolution is smaller than modern day televisions. To circumvent this one could force a higher resolution with dgVoodoo under DirectX tab under resolution, select desired resolution.
The better solution in my humble opinion is through fixes on Silent Hilll 3’s PCGamingWiki page.

Particularly “Silent Hill 3 PC Fix by Steam006”. It runs the game through its custom .exe file. If you use this fix, one will need to uncheck at least “Disable Alt-Enter to toggle screen state” in Direct X Tab under Behavior. The way dgVoodoo goes about fullscreen will conflict with the PC Fix file and the game will crash (It does not crash at launch, the crash happens right before the start of first level). On the off chance it still conflicts, uncheck “Application controlled fullscreen/windowed state”.
I know all of this can be overwhelming. It would not be as tedious if Konami would re-release older titles with modern conventions.
