the best presets are the ones who are the most subtle, like mine, and not the one who crank sheeeit to Level 9000 without checking any of the aftermath of their decimation

if you go too dark, it overwrites textures shown in darker areas, masking them, so you see less details in darker areas. it's very very tricky to balance.
If you push the preset too high, it will overwrite the basic wow textures and you'll end up missing details basically, which is not something I like
I did dial back the intensity of the preset, because if you go way too idiotic hardcore, it merely masks the original WoW textures, and you end up missing the original game altogether, which is dumb
if you're playing WoW in 4k on like a 32-inch monitor (cough MSI monitors), you're like having a pure and virtuous visual orgasm from my preset, cuz u knows, I do things good n stuff.
lulz I get an error while trying to queue for a specific battleground, says 'Aurora is blocking' something. The state of addons in this game is nuts.
Although, yes, there are more working addons than I knew, you have to use CurseForge and not Minion. Does everything in this world feel dead or broken or what. except my presets. answer: yes, yes it does

- Removed the TAA, it was, for some obscure reason, blitzing up the graphics when panning the camera. Like I'm supposed to know that.
- Added a healthier amount of sharpening.
- Fixed clarity/brightness.

going back to Last Epoch, this game sucks byeee
added the screenshot of my UI. took 2 hours to build (takes time.. lulz)
I was able to rebuild a pretty damn good UI by hand with the following addons:
- Addon Control Panel
- ArkInventory (all set to display bags in black)
- DBM
- Atlasloot
- Aurora and Aurora Missing Textures (Important: You have to -manually- copy the stuff in the addon into the interface dir, read the instructions)
- Bartender4 (thank god it still works)
- BlizzMove (not as good as MoveAnything, but that said addon is broken now)
- BtwQuests
- GTFO (warns about dmg)
- Immersion + Immersion ExtraFade
- InFlight (for flight stuff)
- Masque (must have. Onyx is my favorite)
- NeatPlates (might change it, pretty basic)
- Pawn
- Pitbull (replaced the great XPerl that is now totally fkn broken)
- Prat (for the chat)
- Quartz (for bars)
- SexyMap (for the map)
- Wholly (for info)
- Xloot (I think it still works)
- Zmail (? untested)
I've made a kickass UI out of these addons so far. Not sure I'll play the game, but my UI at least looks badass (I always build my WoW by hand).
Refixed again, was a bit too bright.

Just tried WoW again in 2024. I must say, I have never ever ever seen so many 'core' add-ons being broken right off the bat. It is very clear that even these core people have left WoW (or something else happened to them). I have never seen anything on this epic scale in WoW, ever. Oh well. Whatever. Not like it matters, right.

I find that doing nonstop outdoor quests in WoW is extremely relaxing.
I mean, I'm an extreme powerplayer by definition, but I get a bit bored in the indoor WoW dungeons tbh. Some are indeed beautiful, but others are too generic.
I really like doing random/odd outdoor quests, exploring the world, literally running around aimlessly, seeing new zone graphics, chilling like a villain while being all alone in some remote location. Feels good man.
Oh snap my mega preset overtook my low-key preset in hits.
I guess peeps like the more colorful, bolder stuff.

-09-18-22: I am not touching the settings anymore as they look utterly magnificent. It is strange, I actually remember the game (in Vanilla time) looking rather similar to my preset. Did they denaturized gfx at some point in the game? I seriously don't know. maybe it's merely my screen that is to blame. Regardless, we're enjoying this new preset, as it is pretty much flawless. I absolutely will not brighten the darkness up either. Enjoy that tiny bit of darkness.
-09-11-22: I removed BloomingHDR. As nice as it looks, it makes it almost *impossible* to have darker areas that aren't masking original WoW ground textures. So, I re-adjusted night settings, which effectively make the WoW textures in the dark re-appear, while still mimicking the previous look of the BloomingHDR mode and still providing an awesome slightly darker night/darker zone mode.
-08-10-22: I have lowered Blooming HDR a bit. The nights will be fairly dark, but it's still quite beautiful at night regardless. I'll see if this creates any visibility issues and may (or may not) brighten it up (without using Blooming HDR this time).
- 08-08-22: Another update. I switched to "Blooming HDR" because it looks so incredibly good. It does also create a very minor amount of blooming in the menu as a side effect, but it is worth it. Also using MXAO which adds minor dark shadows all over, if it glitches too much, I'll remove it.
- 08-08-22: Fixed the LevelsPlus, they were initially too dark when I released the preset, then I made them overly bright. They should now be much better balanced, trying to strike a good balance between too bright and too dark :)
