Alan Wake
Posted 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Hi, I cant get sweetfx to work. Running the GOG 1.06 version of Alan Wake I think. I tried manual install with 1.4 and the k-putt's preset as well as the configurator with 1.51 and k-putt'spreset. Game just crashes before it loads. If I launch the game with the -window option it loads but gives some dx error and the preset has no effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add, even without k-putt's preset the same happens.

Try using ReShade instead. Try 3.0.8 and then the latest version: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jhh1809cl/ReShade_Repository If they don't work, at least you can ask for help in the official ReShade forums, which are way more active than these. Official forums here: https://reshade.me/forum

AssassinsDecree thanks ReShade 3 does work but I have no idea how to convert k-utt's sweetfx preset to reshade?

@mips Hi man, I had this problem in the past and I had to merge a setup to get it to work. I will install the game now and I pass you the setup once I figure it out again. It's been a while but I shouldn't be too long.

@mips Here you go, Man. Heres the working ported version for Alan Wake 1.06 http://www.mediafire.com/file/3xv6wnextgst03q/Reshade+Ported+Version.rar Now I added all the files you need to drop into Alan Wake Folder. I also merged PPFX with it because it has the best SSDO: Screen Space Directional Occlusion I also added the 3 .dlls need for this ported Version just in case you come across some other game Old/New that won't work for you. I also added a 4k Netural Lut and the setting is activated already in CustomFX.cfg just in case you use Lut Both bloom and SSDO are setup in ppfx.fx. PPFX has the best Bloom and SSDO out of all reshade configs Just Drop all files and folders to your Games folder. Alan Wake is a DX10 but truthfully it acts in the middle of DX9/DX10 when trying to get Injector to hook so the dx9 .dll I added is an old .dll made to force injectors to work with GTA V dx10 & dx11 version Even though the Injector says dx9 it actually works more like dx10 borderline Anyway, this will get you up and going with alan wake :)
