CS:GO Preset not working
Posted 9 years, 10 months ago
Hey guys, I just joined the SFX community and I downloaded the SFX program + a preset for CS:GO, this one to be exact: Sharper+Vibrant for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive I found the colors pretty neat and decided I wanted to try this out in-game. The problem is, when I import the preset and load the selected preset, it DOES change all the settings in the main menu (i'll call it the main menu idk how to call it, I think you guys know what I mean), but it doesn't change anything in-game. I manually checked everything from the specific preset read-me and all the data has actually been changed to the preset I imported, but how do I get it working in-game? Is SFX not compatible anymore for CS:GO or is this preset not up-to-date? I have tried it both with SFX open and closed, but this doesn't do anything either. Thanks in advance! Regards

You have to turn off In-game MSAA for SweetFX to work. This makes it work both on the menu and in-game. At least that's what I did. I haven't played CS:GO for about a month now.

Hey PC_Constatine, thank you for your answer, can these settings be found in the video settings of CS? And do I have go have the SFX program open or can it be closed after the preset is loaded? And is the MSAA the only thing I have to turn off or all the options that are modified by the SFX program?

Program? I just use the actual files for every game. You shouldn't have to have it open unless it's raedeon pro but you don't need that for CSGO. And yeah MSAA is the 2x,4x,8x Anti-aliasing option. CSGO's MSAA doesnt work with Sweetfx so it has to be turned off. I would just manually install the sweetfx package to CSGO's bin file and change the settings in the .TXT file.

Is there maybe a little guide you can do for me how to do it step by step? Sorry for my questions, but I'm kinda new into this stuff and not really well known with all this advanced stuff. The MSAA settings are turned off in-game and the preset text file is in the CS:GO map, this is where the actual csgo.exe is located. Do I need to take the text file for the downloaded preset and all the belonging files, like d3d9.dll / .fx, dxgi.dll/.fx, the injector, the shadow.fx etc. to the "Bin" folder in the CS:GO folder?

Yeah you do, the way I have it set up is that everything from SweetFX is in the Bin folder instead of the main directory where the .exe is located. It's just the way it needs to be with CSGO. And a step by step guide: 1: Download Ceejay or boulatuar's sweetfx package, both work. 2: Drag and drop all the files from the folder into the "Bin" folder in your CSGO directory. (you can drag and drop all the files in your main directory as well just to be sure) 3: Manually change the Sweetfx settings.txt file with your desired settings or download a preset from here and rename it to SweetFX_Settings and replace the default .txt file. 4: double check MSAA is off for this game and it should work. 5: Hit the toggle key to make sure in case you cannot tell (it is Scroll Lock by default).

Alright thanks for the help. I got it working but for some reason it's not as displayed on the pictures of the original preset unfortunately. It is just a very very very very tiny color detail. Not how it looks like on the preview picture and how I basically wanted it to be. Unfortunate.
