The preset
“Chilled Enmity” for
Def Jam Vendetta does an assortment of things. It corrects lighting in stages/wrestling rings. The lighting effect can be more pronounced in certain arenas; it depends on the contrast of the stage. Stages that have a darker background produce starker lighting. A richer color is another feature, without it becoming over saturated. It adds more color with a natural balance. Chilled Enmity also brings textures of character models into better focus. The same can be said with textures of wrestling rings and arena structures. It adds a small hint of depth of field yet it is mainly noticeable in a handful of stages; typically stages that have a darker atmosphere. This preset also enhances the images in the game’s photo gallery. Lastly to a small degree it helps with aliasing but does not remove it completely. I tried both Smaa and Fxaa, but to no avail.
The three shaders used in this preset are:
Lut.fx
Layer.fx
Smaa.fx
The majority of the preset is done through lut and layer. The result of this is extremely little (if any) FPS loss during gaming. The Lut and Layer files are below in the gallery; one Lut file and three Layer files. Download/Save the lut file and only one layer file. The layer files are sized to resolution; 1k(1024x576), 2k(2048x1152), and 4k(4096x2304). Choose the one closest in correlation to gaming display. A final thing to note with layer, by default,
“Layer_Scale=” is set to
“1.500000” this value may need to be increased or decreased depending on the size of one’s personal display hardware. After downloading/saving lut and layer files, place in reshade-shaders/Textures/ folder. Rename to lut.png and Layer.png.
Technically this was done on the PS2 version of Def Jam Vendetta through the PCSX2 emulator; by default the DirectX 9/10/11 plugin with Reshade does not work with this emulator. There are instructions on the game’s page on how to circumvent this; if one does not follow these instructions Reshade’s hooks regarding DirectX will not read. PCSX2’s default and arguably best renderer Direct3D 11 will not work with Reshade; instead one will have to use it’s Open GL renderer, and install reshade’s Open GL plugin which in my humble opinion is not as good. This preset should work for those who prefer the Gamecube version ran through Dolphins emulator.
Below are links with examples of the improvements stated above for convenience; to hopefully alleviate the user from going through all the images. The amount of images is to honestly, earnestly, and accurately convey what to expect with this preset before considering a download.

The world has become a more crazier place since I last uploaded a preset earlier this year. Please do what one can to keep people safe. It is not a hoax; nearly a million people worldwide have perished from Covid-19 (908,000 as of this typing
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ ). The elderly, to small children, and people aged in between. To quote an old proverb “Humility begins wisdom. Pride comes before the fall(death).”
