Cato's 2K Darker Sharper Mars

Preset description:
2K Darker Sharper Mars is a somewhat subtle preset which reduces the white-wash bleached effect and increasing the shader range. During daylight, the Martian topography is profiled more sharply, with a deeper colour range/hue. Dome glare is reduced. Haziness reduced. During Dawn & Dusk, shadows and lighting are more dynamic, with a greater range available. At Night, the darker environment combined with blur removal allows base & robot lighting to look cleaner. ----------- Tweaked for: 2560x1440p resolution, Ultra settings. ----------- TECHNIQUES IN-USE Vibrance (Enhances colour depth) LumaSharpen (Removes blur) Vignette (Adds border tone gradient) Curves (Changes gamma calculation) FXAA (Smooths edges) ToneMap (Darkens image slightly) Notes: We have to use a light dose FXAA here, since the Surviving Mars UI is extremely sensitive to post-processing (SMAA completely wrecks the in-game font). If you don't mind jagged text try lowering the Edge-Detection rate of the FXAA setting for smoother visuals. ----------- INSTALLATION Make sure you have the latest ReShade: https://reshade.me/ Run the ReShade installer with default options, select 'Surviving Mars' and DX10/11 Support. Download this preset. Rename the file to 'Cato' or 'DSM' (or whatever) and change the file extension to '.ini' instead of '.txt'. Make sure you have actually changed the extension correctly and it's not called 'DSM.ini.txt'- try resaving as files in notepad for any issues. Copy the Cato.ini file to the Surviving Mars install directory where Reshade is. When you boot up the game, hit Home to bring up the Reshade Menu. Select the Cato preset and tick apply. Tip: You can set a hotkey with the Reshade Settings bar for 'Apply Overlay' which toggles Reshade on/off in-game. I use Scroll Lock.
