The preset “
Quixotic Juvenescence” for the 2013 video-game
Young Justice Legacy, helps increase graphical fidelity. In more descriptive examples, it re-balances color, removing the more greenish tint from the game while adding more color (vibrancy/saturation). Lastly it increases contrast, focusing more distinction between bright and dark areas (light/shadows) collectively adding immense depth to the game. This preset only uses two shaders
LUT.fx and
SMAA.fx. It would have just been one shader (LUT.fx) but Young Justice Legacy has no built in anti-aliasing.
If one is new to Reshade and need help installing the file in the gallery associated with LUT.fx read the instructions on my user page.

While making this preset I questioned my own sanity being candid, given that this game is not the best in many facets; from game-play, level progression, and replay/fun factor to name a few. I figured after cautiously picking this game back up years later I should at least try to make the game more appealing visually, though it will not counteract or supersede its other severe flaws. I think even if one plays the game with this preset one will still question why he or she is playing; well that is my experience with this game in the past and present; yet there could be players out there who genuinely enjoy this game, and that is okay too.
That reason alone is why I decided to see how this preset looked on the animated series it is based on, Young Justice which debuted in 2011, though the Lut specifically was not made for the TV series, rather its video-game counterpart; it looks pretty good all things considered. I surmise people will download this preset for the series Young Justice over the game Young Justice Legacy but I could be wrong, who knows.
If one is going to use this preset for the animated TV series over the game, keep these two things in mind.
1. The default settings for Lut “
Lut chroma amount” and “
Lut luma amount” are set to “
1.000 (100%)” for the game Young Justice legacy. These settings need to be lowered, personally I believe 1.000 causes too strong of an effect for the TV series, each Lut setting of the picture examples below are set to “
.630”(63%)”. To my eye that was the best setting but it could be different for yours. If one thinks 63% is too strong or weak of a setting, tinker until it looks okay to your view.
2. Make sure that one’s
video/media player is compatible for Reshade to register, meaning it should be
DirectX or
OpenGL compatible.

In closing this preset can be used for Young Justice Legacy the 2013 video-game, or Young Justice the 2011 TV series. These settings have to be changed for the TV series since the Lut was specifically made for the 2013 video-game. Instructions to easily change settings are listed above. A last thought I have is if anyone else makes a preset for Young Justice legacy, I will be extremely surprised. That was a main motivation for making this preset, no one else in their right mind would, and that is the correct mode of thinking, ha, can not blame them. Hopefully, maybe one day the Young Justice television series will get a video-game equal to it’s high excellence. One more thing before parting, the game’s resolution defaults to 720p. I could not get it to play in higher resolutions. There is no option in game for resolution change; that is just a tiny taste of how broken and/or busted Young Justice Legacy is, but I digress.
-peace out.
