Final Flash | Cinematic ReShade w/DoF

DESCRIPTION: This uses the ReShade 3.0 framework to deliver realistic and cinematic, knock-your-socks-off visuals. Almost every cinematic feature is on a toggle key... and there are many, DoF and lens flares to lens dirt, anamorphic camera distortion, and godrays. Please let me know if you need help disabling a feature or tweaking a setting to your liking. Also, toggle off the reshade DoF with the division key on the numberpad during cutscenes to avoid unintended blur. I've been working on this preset since the game launched, as in that's all I've done with the game instead of actually playing it, lol. I do hope the work shows.
CRITICAL INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Download and install the latest version of reshade from reshade.me. Select your game's .exe. Choose the directx 10+ version. Say yes when it ask if you want to download a collection of effects. Run the game and press shift+f2 to open the reshade menu. Follow the prompts and quit when finish with the reshade tutorial quit the game. Download my preset with the download button below and paste the settings in the .ini file you create during the reshade setup process. 2) Once you've downloaded and installed the reshade framework from reshade.me, you MUST go to the in game Reshade "Settings" tab and make sure "RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=0", make sure "RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_LOGARITHMIC=1", AND make sure "RESHADE_DEPTH_LINEARIZATION_FAR_PLANE=10000.0", make sure "RESHADE_DEPTH_IS_UPSIDE_DOWN=0", (without the quotes, of course) and then go back to the main "Home" reshade menu tab and click "reload" at the bottom of that reshade menu. Failure to do this will render your entire screen 100% blurry while Depth-of-Field (DoF) is on. 3) After installing this reshade, you need to go to the dropbox link below and download the "reshade-shaders" folder and copy-paste-overwrite the folder in your main Final Fantasy XV' folder, where the game's .exe files are: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5kaover0znlpb72/AADGBMVg8ydYQPlSRBQBDaTua?dl=0
CONTROLS & HOTKEYES: -DoF main blur - / (the division key) on the numberpad -Softer distant DoF (LightDof)- 1 on numberpad -Boom and lens flares and certain lens dirt - 6 on numberpad -Anamorphic camera lens (lens distortion) and chromatic aberration- 2 on numberpad -Letterboxing (black bars) - 0 on numberpad -Vignette (darkening in corners) - * on numberpad -Ambient light and lens dirt (disabled by default) - decimal-point (dot) on the numberpad -Gaussian Blur (softens the image) - 9 on numberpad -LiftGammaGain (turning this off will drastically brighten and, to me, overexpose the image, but you may like it) - 4 on numberpad -Tiltshift (constant soft blur towards bottom of the screen) - 8 on the numberpad --- this effect may not scale well on resolutions beyond 1920x1080p, resolution scaling, or monitors with aspect ratios other than 16:9, so toggle this off if you get insane world-ending blur where you can't see anything, it shouldn't look that way.
CRASHING AND UI/HUD FIX 1. For me, the game crashes if I use any form of ReShade or SweetFx in fullscreen mode. So you must enable borderless window mode to use ReShade if yours also crashes when trying to load the game with Reshade enabled. 2. Recently I've needed to rename my reshade files, "dxgi.ini" and "dxgi.dll" to "d3d11.ini" and "d3d11.dll", respectively, to get the game to stop crashing on launch. 3. Use the in-game screen calibration setting to adjust your UI to fit into the letterbox (black bars) 4. I've tested and optimized this ReShade for the game's default in-game brightness. Tested on Ultra settings.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE FOR FINE TUNING THE RESHADE: Bloom and Lens Flares: Adjust fBloomThreshold or the fBloomAmount up or down in very small increments (of about 10 or 20) until you are happy with how much bloom you want. Increasing fBloomThreshold the value will give less bloom, while increasing fBloomAmount will give you more bloom (and more lens dirt, as the amount of bloom impacts how much dirt you get, which you can then lower the dirt amount sepeately). To disable the lens flares from bright lightsources at night, like the moon and interior lights, look under the Bloom effect in the ReShade in-game menu and look for the setting "bAnamFlareEnable" and change it from on to off with the drop down menu. Brightness: If it is too dark lower the gamma setting in the in-game Reshade "Tonemap" setting in increments of 20. OR raise the "brightness" in the RehShade Technicolor 2 setting. DoF (depth of field blur): To pull the DoF on far away out-of-focus areas closer to the player (and make it stronger), adjust DOF_FarBlurCurve up or down. Increasing the value will give less blur.
UPDATES: Version 1.4 - Redid DoF from scratch. Switch between a smooth DoF (activated by default and toggleable with division key) and a bokeh fancy DoF with multiple focal points (off by default, toggle on with page-down key, but do not use both at once). Major rework of the film grain. Reworked the anamorphic camera lens distortion. Other numerous changes. Version 1.3 - Increased saturation slightly to balance out image, added Bokeh to main close-range DoF to make it sexier, changed LightDoF (horizon DoF) proc values so closer objects should remain in focus for further distances. Version 1.2 - Further major tweaks to DoF, both the short and long range DoFs. Version 1.1 - Reworked the DoF. Got rid of the close range blur completely for now. Get it back, sorta, by changing the DOF_NearBlurCurve to someone between the 1.8 and 2.5, if you want.
UNINSTALLING: Delete the Reshade folder, dxgi.ini, dxgi.dll, and dxgi.log from your game folder. That's it. Enjoy, leave comments below if you're having trouble installing or better yet youtube a Resahde 3.0+ install guide. It's extremely easy. You may notice a decrease in performance, but the visual difference is night and day to me and I can't ever go back to vanilla. Check the comments section below for a tip from me on what will likely restore some FPS while loosing only some features of the reshade.

Man you give us a lot of options to enable and disable the effects coming with your preset. I am really the convenience typ of guy when it comes to improve my images in game, but since I use your amazing prest for AC Origins I know it is the little extra "work" worth. I previously installed the No.1 hits preset from the main page of this games presets, but unfortunetly it looks only "bright" IMO. I really like it much more the presets for games would focus more on a crisp and clear image preset than oversaturated so many presets with "color". So I hope again after I noticed your preset here I will be satified again. ;-) BTW, how far is your ne ReShade for the game you mentioned on 7th may here in latest comment?? I would really appreciate a 2020 Preset for this fantastic and good looking game!

LMAO. Oops, I'll fix that. I used to write a brand new install instructions from scratch for each reshade I did, but then I realized the time investment didn't make any sense and actually made me prone to leaving out steps, so I just use a template and tweak the instructions as necessary... not a perfect process as you found :D Thanks!

Wow, our specs don't seem too far apart, so I'm surprised it hit you that hard. I'm on a GTX 1060 6GB, Intel i7 6700 processor, and just 8G of ram.

But yea, I have some ideas on what may be hitting your FPS the hardest. If you get a chance, would you mind disabling the fGodraythreshold under the bloom setting and lowering the aDoF quality to, say, 5?

I bet those are the culprits, especially the godray one.
