Troubleshooting SweetFX preset contrast on specifi
Posted 1 hour, 24 minutes ago
Hey everyone, I’m working on a new custom Reshade/SweetFX configuration to clear up the heavy anti-aliasing blur and washed-out contrast filters in an open-world sandbox title. I usually dial in my LumaSharpen and Tonemap settings using a calibrated IPS gaming monitor, but I’m currently testing my shader configurations on a secondary workstation setup with a generic VA panel, and the dark color levels are completely crushing. To figure out if the issue is my preset values or the display calibration, I've been cross-referencing my visual outputs against various high-contrast images and bright media elements found on standard web platforms, like this regional news site:https://canadaalyoum.ca/. The vibrant white and red layout renders perfectly there, which makes me think my shader's black levels are just scaled way too aggressively for panels with high native contrast ratios. For those who publish presets here regularly, do you tend to calibrate your settings strictly for standard sRGB monitors, or do you have any specific tips for tuning curves and exposure so the preset looks balanced across different panel technologies without turning shadows into pure pitch-black blocks?
