AC: Brotherhood & Sweetfx not working

For the last two or three days I have been trying to make this thing to work in AC:B without any success. As soon as I start the game, it crashes with this Fault Module Name: msvcrt.dll Of course if I remove Sweetfx everything works fine Just to point out I am using WIndows 8.1 and sweetfx 1.5.1 Now. I know that there are problems with sweetfx and Windows 8 but havent had any issues until now. For example sweetfx works just fine in Assassins creed 2 (Windows 8 as well), if we exclude its incompatibility with Fraps of course. All of the versions of SweetFX run fine in AC2 but non of them will work with AC:B. I tried getting sweet FX to work with Radeon Pro but i havent had any success there either. So what can I do, any suggestions? I tried running the game in W7 compatibility mode but it never made SweetFX to work. I have: i7 4770k Asus Z87 Gryphon 2x8GB Kingston 2133 MHz AMD Sapphire 7970 Dual-X Catalyst Version 14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega Software Intel SSD 520 series 240 GB

SweetFX will work without any problems on Windows 8.1 if the game is running on DirectX 9. Now, i'm not sure what AC:B is using.. but maybe it's DirectX10? That would explain the crash.

Nah, AC:B is a DX 9 game.

Miskonius Sorry mate for getting back late to you. Anyway i am on window 7 but when i was on windows 8.1 the only way i got AC:B working with SweetFX 1.5.1 was to run it Through RadeonPro. But another way maybe is to try Reshade + Sweetfx 2.0 Get back to me :)

Well I think I just realized that radeonpro is not working at all. I shown the program where SweetFX is (it recognizes it) it also loads your for ACB settings for but when i run the game from Radeonpro, Sweetfx is not working. Btw Sweetfx is enabled. What am I doing wrong?

Miskonius SweetFX 2.0 is working perfect with it. Watch help video below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRmnpmTKG3s

Miskonius Here you go mate :) http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/2888/ Leave a comment on what you think after you try it :P

Tried it and it works! Its looking pretty great especially at night, but at day time it looks too bright and eyes may start to hurt after a while. Whatever it is that makes it so bright, lower it for about 20-30% and you are good. Or you could tell me what to change so I can try it for myself since I have zero talent for visual art. :) While you are at it, can you do a mod for AC2? This guy did and it looks great, at least for the most part. It has that too much brightness issue as well as the issue with over-saturated colors http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/2145/. Btw thank you for all of your efforts not only in this thread but in general. Keep up the good work! ;)

Miskonius I do find this games default whites are very bright so SweetFX Colour works oddly with it. But i go check it now And BTW Thanks

No, its either the same or even worse. I am not sure that its the white color its maybe gamma, but again this is really not my thing. Once the sun starts shining at the surface its like Super Nova is happening. http://www.dodaj.rs/f/v/ze/2zCy6LYH/assassins-creed-brotherh.jpg http://www.dodaj.rs/f/1l/38/3qarWVHV/assassins-creed-brotherh.jpg

Miskonius lol ''like Super Nova is happening'' lol made my night Yea mate It's the games build in bloom There is a topic here about http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=343018

So bloom is the culprit here? Is there any way of changing it, I see there are Bloom Settings in Sweetfx?
Posted 9 years, 2 months ago
Miskonius It can't be done by Sweetfx alone. There is a fix i found that has to be used with older Sweetfx It overrides the game shaders I am looking into it now
Posted 9 years, 2 months ago
Here is the fix if you want to try it without SweetFX first http://www.moddb.com/downloads/assassins-creed-brotherhood-white-gradient-fix I am not to sure if it is doing anything at all :) See does it work for you.

Removed SweetFX, but this thing is crashing the game at launch... It appears that the problem may be Uplay, so i guess i will have to crack the game in order for this mod to work?
Posted 9 years, 2 months ago
Miskonius Forget that mod it does not fix I am now using a Reshade FX shader that has different Tonemapping and i am getting better results I will have it for you soon.
