Preset description:
UPDATE (24/04): I'm currently working on a 1.2 version for this preset, taking advantage of SweetFX 1.5's FineSharp options. [ANTI-ALIASING SOLUTION 1.0 by Bubakar] Crisp yet smooth image with little to no framerate drop for enhanced visual quality in Squad. (or How to get around Unreal Engine's lack of proper anti-aliasing) - Uses ReShade 3.0.6 and SweetFX 1.4 for compatibility (EasyAntiCheat whitelisted) - Doesn't get you kicked by Squad's anti-cheat ("opengl32.dll unknown gamefile" messages and such) - Doesn't impede further customization/hybridization with other presets (color correction, vignetting and whatnot) Features: Chromatic Abberation, HighPassSharp, LumaSharpen, AdaptativeSharpen effects.
▒▒▒ ***WARNING*** this preset was built around the game's TXAA + x1.25 supersampling, I highly recommend activating these for an optimal experience. ▒▒▒
INTRO Hi fellow Squaddies, As some of you may already know, Squad runs on the Unreal Engine 4.11 which has some problem with regular anti-aliasing solutions you usually find in other games. Namely, the engine does not support regular MSAA (multi-sampling anti-aliasing) nor does it support injecting/forcing it through your GPU effects panel. That leaves us with a great game that's either too blurry because you've decided to use FXAA/TXAA or a total pixel mess because you went with no aliasing at all. While FXAA/TXAA might reduce eyestrain and provide you with a costless alternative to regular anti-aliasing methods, these two solutions make the game extremely blurry and doesn't allow for proper target acquisition or great screenshots to show your friends and family on their own: "No mom, I'm not training for Jihad, this is just a game". But fear not, because I've found a way to provide you with a crispy in-game image at a very small cost framerate wise. It looks good both being still and in movement and is not too overdone compared to other presets.

INSTALLATION & INSTRUCTIONS Download the .zip file I provided below OR if you have a working version of ReShader/SweetFX already, copy and paste the settings directly. 1- Unzip the archive, drop the Win64 folder's content into 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Squad\Squad\Binaries\Win64' 2- Run ReShade_Setup_3.0.6.exe 3- Look for Squad, check "OpenGL" (yes, not DirectX one, don't ask me why) and overwrite any previous installation 4- Download the effects library 5- In Steam, right click Squad go to 'Properties' > 'Local Files' > 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' 6- Launch Squad 7- DO NOT FORGET TO ACTIVATE TXAA (1.25 sampling optional) 8- PROFIT
MISC *[SHIFT+F2] to access ReShader 3.0.6 + SweetFX 1.4 in-game. *The .ini file I've provided you with is called "SHARPENSQUAD.ini". *Feel free to adjust and fine-tune settings to your liking and do not be afraid to experiment. *Made with epic settings, x1.25 supersampling, TXAA at 1920x1080.
