Hyding's Clarity - Max

Preset for Star Citizen

Shader used: ReShade
Preset description:
This preset gives Star Citizen a shot of additional clarity and depth without massively changing the basic color scheme. It was tested against Star Citizen 3.7.1 on a AMD Radeon RX5700 + Ryzen 3800X on a Dell U3011 wide gamut monitor. This preset was made to use in-game Gamma / Brighness / Contrast at their default of 50 and then adjusting these through ReShade. That doesn't mean you may not want to adjust your own for your monitor, just that starting back at 50 may be a good place to test the profile. I've provided a "Max" (this preset) which will have the most FPS impact (<>15% on my RX 5700 XT), and "Regular" version (Hyding's Clarity - Regular for Star Citizen)which has around a 6-7% FPS hit. Both versions incorporate: * FXAA - to smooth a few jaggies * Emphasize - to improve ship cockpit views (reduces exterior light blurring MFDs and struts). Around a 2% performance hit on it's own so a quick thing to uncheck if you need more performance. * Clarity - boosts the overall image. * Tonemap - color and gamma adjustment along with removal of SC's "green fog" in interiors. * LumaSharpen - very subtle sharpening applied after most others * LevelsPlus - final color and contrast adjustments. This "Max" version adds: * EyeAdapatation - simulates your pupils contracting based on darkening when there is a bright light in the center of the image (go star at Stanton to see it) while brightening the image if the center is very dark. You may love this, if not, just uncheck it. Around a 2% performance hit. * MXAO - adds ambient occlusion effects. These fake shadows/shading but are very minimal as higher it causes really weird looking Cockpit artifacts. Given that it has around a 5% impact on it's own, I didn't want to put this in the "Regular" version. Note on other shaders I tested: * SSDO was interesting (like an improved Ambient Occlusion) but causes too many artifacts in cockpits and is very slow or even unavailable to some GPUs. * I wanted to use HDR, which would have replaced LevelsPlus and worked well with Tonemap however HDR shader on Star Citizen causes a very distracting form of shimmer on flat metallic surfaces, which are everywhere in SC.
