Myrkens HD FFXIV ARR

Created by karnn
Added Sept. 5, 2013
Shader used: SweetFX 1.4
Preset description:
Use ninjas Sweetfx injector. you can download the full package here: http://ninjafada.com/ffxiv/ARR/p3/p3v9.rar extract in the game folder where ffxiv.exe is My personal preset for much enhanced detail for good gaming and enthusiast pc rigs. If too colorful adjust vibrancy settings in setting preset between 0.5 and 0.1 I usually run 0.5 or 0.3. 0.3 is a bit less colorful but I like it also.

(Interferes with SMAA, CRT, Bloom, HDR and Lumasharpen) #define USE_ADVANCED_CRT 0 //[0 or 1] Advanced CRT : Simulates an old CRT TV display. (Interferes with SMAA, Cartoon, Bloom, HDR and Lumasharpen, and it has a very high performance cost) #define USE_BLOOM 1 //[0 or 1] Bloom : Makes bright lights bleed their light into their surroundings (relatively high performance cost) #define USE_HDR 1 //[0 or 1] HDR : Not actual HDR - It just tries to mimic an HDR look (relatively high performance cost) #define USE_LUMASHARPEN 1 //[0 or 1] LumaSharpen : Also sharpens the antialiased edges which makes them less smooth - I'm working on fixing that. #define USE_TECHNICOLOR 0 //[0 or 1] TECHNICOLOR : Attempts to mimic the look of an old movie using the Technicolor three-strip color process (Techicolor Process 4) #define USE_DPX 1 //[0 or 1] Cineon DPX : Should make the image look like it's been converted to DXP Cineon - basically it's another movie-like look similar to technicolor. #define USE_MONOCHROME 0 //[0 or 1] Monochrome : Monochrome makes the colors disappear. #define USE_LIFTGAMMAGAIN 0 //[0 or 1] Lift Gamma Gain : Adjust brightness and color of shadows, midtones and highlights (avoids clipping) #define USE_TONEMAP 0 //[0 or 1] Tonemap : Adjust gamma, exposure, saturation, bleach and defog. May cause banding artifacts. #define USE_DITHER 0 //[0 or 1] Dither : Applies dithering to simulate more colors than your monitor can display. This lessens banding artifacts (mostly caused by Vignette) #define USE_BORDER 0 //[0 or 1] Border : Makes the screenedge black as a workaround for the bright edge that forcing some AA modes sometimes causes. #define USE_SPLITSCREEN 0 //[0 or 1] Splitscreen : Enables the before-and-after splitscreen comparison mode. /*-----------------------------------------------------------. / SMAA Anti-aliasing settings / '-----------------------------------------------------------*/ #define SMAA_THRESHOLD 0.08 //[0.05 to 0.20] Edge detection threshold. Also normal sweetfx 1.4 wont work with FFXIV ARR you need the one ninja edited in mt preset description.

Actually the .exe that runs the game not the one that launches it is in the GAME folder. So if sweetfx is in your boot folder its in the wrong place usually games start via the games .exe in this games case it uses a launcher which then redirects to the game .exe in the GAME folder. so having it in Boot wont do anything as thats just the launcher. Its not the exe that retrieves the DX data.

Also, Not sure why SweetFX would be installed into the GAME folder when the .exe file that launches the launcher/game is in the BOOT folder. I thought SweetFX had to be in the folder with the file that actually starts the game...

"Did you rename the preset "SweetFX_Settings" And overwrite the one that comes with the injector and have you updated your Direct X 9? Also it has to be in the GAME folder its probably crashing due to you needing to update DX9. Post back if this helps."

I've done all of this and FFXIV:ARR crashes right after logging in. Any ideas?

Do you need to turn off the in-game HDR to use the sweetfx one? What would be your choice of preference.

Did found the reason: Im Using Philips amBX Speaker Devices and in the Taskmanager it said that the process used by the driver(amBx related) do the problem actually just deleting them in the TaskManager and voilà : It works!

No you can turn off FXAA in game if you like as SMAA is better optimized and does the same thing better. In the next 4 years SMAA will become the gaming industry standard as FXAA is now. Currenty the industry is behind the times again and gamers need an injector to get SMAA. Crysis 3 runs SMAA and a couple other titles being now released are beginning to use it.

Any reason for FXAA over SMAA? Otherwise great. All other DweetFX I tried using crashed.

Did you rename the preset "SweetFX_Settings" And overwrite the one that comes with the injector and have you updated your Direct X 9? Also it has to be in the GAME folder its probably crashing due to you needing to update DX9. Post back if this helps.

cant start the game in combo with the injector - d3d9.dll keeps me crashing in the GAME folder - but within the boot it works .--but no effect
