Bakuto's Gaman ^annex

Preset for Yakuza 0
Created by MarvelousSagacity
Added Nov. 3, 2019
Shader used: ReShade
Preset description:
“Bakuto's Gaman ^annex” is a modified preset of “Bakuto’s Gaman” made for Yakuza 0 (Ryu Ga Gotoku 0), first uploaded here August 9th 2019. The main difference is the new lut file created to coincide with the previous layer file. When originally creating Bakuto’s Gaman, I had intended for users to add color to the layer file through reshade to their preference, instead I thought it better to volunteer the color I personally use with the created layer file, resulting in the new term “annex”; basically an amendment or addition. The new lut file adds more color but in a balanced fashion. The layer file too adds additional balance to the added color; yielding a more realistic natural color spectrum over the default one. The Layer file gives the image/game extended depth; more depth of field and increases shadow and light sources accuracy. This preset only uses three filters/shaders, 1. Layer.fx 2.LUT.fx 3.SMAA.fxh. In observation it may appear more but that is it. The main personal goal when creating presets, is to create improved graphical fidelity, with little impact to game-play as possible. Henceforth these 3 effects for the majority of presets I create will be all that is used. In comparison, the previous preset I uploaded “Asari’s Gentility” for Mass Effect 2, the final effect took at least double the shaders of “Bakuto's Gaman ^annex” if not more. I am not necessarily saying using several shaders is an immoral thing, I would simply say it is not suited for an optimization state of mind. In closing, SMAA works, but is not perfect with Yakuza 0, it improves edges yet some aliasing can still occur in some objects. All images included are new to account for the added color alteration and values in the .ini file; unlike Asari’s Gentility which were mostly old. The Layer file, if one plays at a higher resolution the value “Layer_Scale=” may need to be adjusted. The default value is “1.500000”. To change the strength or transparency of the layer file adjust the value “Layer_Blend=”. The default Value is “0.533000” To install the included Lut file and Layer file (If one is not familiar with ReShade). 1. Save the Lut and Layer file to one’s computer (They are the first two images in the image gallery below. They have a different name in the gallery, they will need to be renamed when installed; to Layer.png lut.png). 2. Find the location where ReShade is installed. 3. Find the folder “reshade-shaders” click on it 4. Click on the sub-folder “Textures” 5. Overwrite the original Layer file and Lut file in the Textures folder; if one is not comfortable overwriting, rename the original files, for example “lut.old” or “Layer.old” Hopefully people will find some use of this revised preset, if not that is fine too. I was fortunate to have only uploaded two presets this year. It was not much of a hassle to replace. I backup everything, it is a habit acquired over the years, still, it could be time spent to better use. To those who do not backup, not shaming or condemning, just from personal experience. it helps with the unexpected unforeseen problem(s). I may release at least one more preset before the year is over. -peace out.
