Preset description:
Version 4, Updated: 05/10/2017 @ 6:30 PM A moody, subtle ReShade preset for Darkwood. Settings by deViLhoOD. Intended for use with a resolution of 1920x1080. This preset is a direct copy/paste from my DirectX 9 ReShade 3.0.8 configuration. Firstly, I cannot properly express with words how much I love this game, so I've tried my best to create something special here. My goal was to make the game look more akin to a moody painting. The effects are very subtle and it's only meant to compliment the atmosphere. Please make sure that your monitor or TV settings are properly calibrated. It's a simple set up with a low performance hit, utilising: FilmGrain (helps with banding and adds some extra grit). FXAA (works effectively to smooth off object corners and the more obvious pixel jaggies). HQ4X (disabled by default, but you can use this instead of FXAA if you prefer its more subtle result). LumaSharpen (disabled by default, but useful if you want to regain some sharpness lost by SurfaceBlur). SurfaceBlur (this will subtly smooth off the pixels without sacrificing detail, due to the way the game is scaled at 1080p). Vibrance (gently brings out the more subtle colours). Vignette (can sometimes hide details at the corner of the screne, but I like how it puts more emphasis on the protagonist). Tonemap (to enhance the light around the protagonist and lightly add more of a blueish cinematic tint to the darker areas). I didn't feel that Curves or Levels were necessary because the default brightness and contrast seems appropriate. I've never been a fan of presets that change this, because they often remove detail from the shadows and highlights due to clipping. This preset is still subject to some further tweaking as I play through the entire game. Thank you, and stay out of the darkness. If you're one of those guys still using SweetFX and want a SweetFX preset.. well.. You should really try ReShade and stop using an obsolete graphics hook.
